St Andrew’s Church Choir

We are very lucky in Hatfield Peverel to be able to maintain a four-part choir for most services.

As well as singing the liturgy at the main services of Parish Eucharist and Evensong, the choir sings anthems and, on occasion, larger scale services, sometimes in association with others. There is a small offshoot group – the Men of St Andrew’s (a male close-harmony and barbershop group which meets twice a month for rehearsal) This group in particular has been out of the parish to entertain at events such as harvest suppers, fetes; etc. and giving concerts to raise money for many charitable causes.

If you would like to join us, we would be delighted to welcome you. Now you might say “I’m no good as I can’t read music”. Worry not, we can overcome that problem. You might say “I can’t sing, I haven’t a voice.” Actually only one person in a million can’t sing; that’s pretty good odds that you can sing. We need people with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

The choir meets for practice on Thursday evenings at 7.15pm in the church – just walk in and join us.
